Longevity of service
Nominees must have a proven track record of significant service and dedication to the healthcare sector, principally in service of patients and a chosen profession.
The length of service should be demonstrative of a sustained commitment to advancing the goals and objectives of the broader South African healthcare system.
Achievement of Outcomes
Nominees must have achieved notable outcomes that have directly or indirectly contributed to the improvement of the broader healthcare system.
The outcomes should be substantial in their impact, demonstrating tangible benefits to patients, healthcare providers, and/or the broader community.
Post-Conference
Nominees should have played a pivotal role in driving systemic improvement within the healthcare sector.
Contributions may include policy development, advocacy efforts, innovative practices, or leadership initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality, accessibility, and effectiveness of healthcare services.
Contributions will further focus mainly on those who have championed any of the areas of clinical quality, nursing quality, and nursing education
Nomination Process
- Nominations for the HASA Excellence in Healthcare Award can be submitted by members of HASA to the CEO.
- Nominations should include detailed evidence supporting the nominee’s eligibility based on the established criteria.
- A selection committee comprised of representatives from the HASA office and the HASA Board will review nominations and select the recipients based on merit.
