Dr Anastasia Chalkidou is the Programme Director for HealthTech at NICE. She was previously the Associate Director for the King’s Technology Evaluation Centre (KiTEC) and was a Senior Research Fellow in Health Technology Assessment at King’s College London, with a focus on complex interventions, medical devices, and digital health technologies.
She has led numerous health technology assessment (HTA) projects, both national and hospital-based, and has provided consultancy to MedTech companies on developing evidence generation strategies and value propositions from inception to market. She is currently a co-investigator on the ASSESS-DHT, a European initiative for HTA of Digital Health Technologies. Her career began in Clinical Oncology after completing her medical degree in 2004.
She holds an MSc in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, a PhD in validating PET biomarkers in oncology, and an MA in Higher Education Practice. She co-chairs the HTAi Medical Devices Interest Group.
