Paula Armstrong is a Senior Director at FTI Consulting and is based in Cape Town, South Africa. She is in the Economics and Financial Consulting segment. Her work focuses on South Africa’s policy and regulatory framework, with a special interest in South Africa’s healthcare policy landscape.

Paula holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Stellenbosch and has considerable experience advising clients on engagements based on economic impact assessments. She has advised clients across various sectors on the issues pertaining to regulatory and policy risks, working closely with stakeholders in preparation for engagement with various government and regulatory authorities, both in South Africa and in other jurisdictions. She has presented on the National Health Insurance Bill to Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Health, and to Nedlac on various policy issues in South Africa. She has testified as an expert economic witness at the Competition Tribunal in an Abuse of Dominance case brought against an alcohol manufacturer.
