Dr Roshini Moodley Naidoo is the Professor of Practice at the College of Health Solutions, Arizona State University, and a Senior Fellow at the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government, Harvard Kennedy School. Dr Naidoo is a global executive with deep expertise of organizational transformation, having led several high-profile change management processes in the private and non-profit sectors.
Dr Naidoo implemented transformative initiatives in health care over a 12-year tenure at Discovery Health, a publicly listed health care administrator, with a membership of 3.5 million lives in South Africa, operating globally in health care markets in the United States, Europe and Asia. As the Executive responsible for Health Risk Management, Dr Naidoo consistently met annual efficiency targets off a base of USD 4 billion funds under management.
After founding the Value-Based Contracting function at Discovery Health, Dr Naidoo led a complex, multi-year re-engineering of health care provider payments, shifting hospital and professional payment systems from fee-for-service to value-based financial structures.Her expertise in value-based contracting includes systems re-engineering, financial risk transfer, performance evaluation, patient reported outcomes measurement (PROMs), and provider negotiations.
Dr Naidoo was selected as the first global Fellow of The Leapfrog Group where her work involved the launch of a published rating of private hospitals on health care quality in South Africa. In her role in higher education, Dr Naidoo instructs in graduate and executive education health care programs, undertakes health care services research and has authored several featured thought leadership articles.
Dr Naidoo is a medical doctor, and holds a MBA degree from Harvard Business School and a MPH degree from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
