The Health and Welfare Sector Education and Training Authority (HWSETA) envision creating a skilled workforce to meet the health and social development needs of all South Africans.

Its mission is to integrate the development and provision of well-trained health and social development workers, ensuring they deliver services that meet world-class standards. HWSETA’s goals include developing and implementing the Sector Skills Plan, planning skills development programs, monitoring education and training, identifying practical work experience opportunities, and supporting the National Skills Development Strategy. We manage levy disbursement, build stakeholder relationships, ensure efficient use of public funds per the Public Finance Management Act, and promote the employment of disabled persons.
