The Office of Health Standards Compliance (OHSC) is the regulatory body for healthcare services, established under the National Health Amendment Act of 2013. Its primary role is to protect and promote the health and safety of users or individuals using health services in the country. The OHSC achieves this through:

• Monitoring and enforcing health standards by conducting compliance inspections in public and private health establishments to ensure compliance with the required norms and standards regulations.
• Issuing a Certificate of Compliance to health establishments that meet the required standards; and
• Complaints Management via the Health Ombud by receiving, investigating, and resolving complaints about poor care, negligence, or human rights violations in health facilities.
